Maria-Anna Kyrgiafini

Head of Genetic Analysis

Maria-Anna Kyrgiafini holds a degree in Biochemistry & Biotechnology from the University of Thessaly and a Master’s degree in Advanced Experimental and Computational Biosciences. She recently completed her PhD in Genetics, focusing on the role of non-coding RNAs in male infertility.

Her research experience includes participation in national and European projects on topics such as livestock heat tolerance, genetic diagnosis of infertility, and the digital transformation of the agri-food sector. Her scientific work includes 23 publications in peer-reviewed international journals (h-index: 7, 121 citations), and she has presented numerous papers at both national and international conferences.

She also serves as a reviewer and special issue editor for scientific journals. She has solid computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent command of English, good knowledge of German, and programming proficiency in Python.
